If you have ever snuck into Northern Arkansas and experienced the hidden world-class sport climbing that exists in the Ozarks, you will immediately recognize what inspired these 4 Large Thuggin’ Jugs. Northern Arkansas is beloved by many for steep, forearm-wrecking, smile-inducing jug-fests. The local climbers simply refer to it as “thuggy climbing.”
There is nothing cryptic about these four large jugs; they are comfortable, bold, and fun-to hang-on buckets. Each hold retains some subtle or not-so-subtle nuance. The largest hold is a full two-hand jug and smaller hands could make several of the others fit a few extra digits.
Hang these beasts on your steepest wall and enjoy the tendon-friendly curves while you inch your way to better power endurance. They are also a great compliment to less steep walls for novice or younger climbers.
Like all Cryptic Climbing rock climbing holds, expect a semi-fine texture that is gentle on your skin but still offers solid friction. These are high-quality Polyurethane resin and every hold has zinc or stainless steel washer (s) built-in to the bolt/screw holes and are sanded flat on the back.
We currently offer these color options:
These are bolt-on holds, meaning they accept a standard 3/8" bolt that secures to a t-nut behind 3/4" plywood (this is a standard climbing setup).
* Need Hardware? We are happy to automatically select the correct bolts and screws for your hold package, just select yes before adding them to cart. The carabiner is not included and is for size reference only. Need some climbing wall hardware? Click the link to view T-Nuts for Climbing Walls.
If you need footholds to go with this, we would recommend our 12-pack of Steep Feet. They offer the perfect variety of feet to match these handholds (and are very inexpensive).
